Major in management at Carthage

Carrying out the Carthage business program’s mission to develop the best-prepared students in the Midwest, management majors follow the College’s proprietary READY™ (Real-world Experience And Developing You) curriculum.

Professors set business professional standards, embedding “real-world” projects and industry standard software (Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Google Ads, HubSpot, WordPress, Tableau, Trello, etc.) in their classes. Many management majors add a second major (typically in marketing) to bolster their credentials.

  • Driedyn O'schay Hernandez

“I chose Carthage because of the immense amount of connections you can gain through school-sponsored events.”

  • Mara Lysne '25

“Coming to Carthage was easily the best decision I have ever made. The people here are so kind, the professors are always willing to help and want you to succeed, and there are so many ways to get involved. Carthage will always and forever be one of my favorite places.”

  • Kelly Steele '26

“Carthage faculty helped plan out my four years as a double major and make my workload not seem so stressful. My relationships with professors have helped me in understanding homework, and it feels easy and convenient going to them for extra help.”

Beyond the classroom

Management Student Organizations

Many students who major in management join Enactus. As part of the READY concept, business management majors can gain professional experience right on campus.

  • Velocity Consulting: Work at the first 100 percent student-run, full-service consulting company in the country.
  • Enactus: Address global problems from an economic perspective with this international nonprofit.
  • Pi Sigma Epsilon: Join the campus chapter of this professional coed sales and marketing fraternity.

Study Abroad

Faculty regularly lead business-focused study tours to countries like Sweden, China, South Africa, and England. There, students can visit top international companies and meet with senior executives.
